Chariot Victor recalls 'Dave and the Giant Pickle'
playsets
Figurines may present choking hazard to young children
by Darren Sumner - March 9, 1999
CHICAGO - Chariot Victor Publishing has issued a recall of about 44,000 "Dave and the
Giant Pickle" playsets, sold in Christian stores and through catalogs between September
1997 and February 1999. The recall is in cooperation with the U.S. Consumer Product
Safety Commission (CPSC).
The commission reported yesterday that six of the playset's figurines have plastic plugs
in their bases that can come out, presenting a choking hazard for young children. Because
of its size and shape, the French Peas figurine also presents a hazard, according to the
CPSC's press release. No injuries have been reported.
Chariot Victor will replace the figurines and reimburse consumers for postage required to
return them. The company can be reached at: Chariot Victor Publishing, 4050 Lee Vance View,
Colorado Springs, CO 80918, or call (800) 743-2514 between the hours of 7 am and 6 pm Central
Standard Time, Monday through Friday.
For more information on the recall, visit the CPSC's web site, at
www.cpsc.gov.
