'Silly Sing-Along 2' pushed
up to November release

Larry the Cucumber faces what could be 'the end of silliness'
by Darren Sumner - October 1, 1998

CHICAGO - Is this the end of silliness as we know it? The end of "Silly Songs With Larry?" The next video in the VeggieTales series answers the question once and for all!

The sequel to the best selling VeggieTales sing-along video is now scheduled for a Nov. 21 release, making it the eleventh video in the series. Formerly slated for a spring, 1999, release, the video switched places with "Larry-Boy and the Rumor Weed" when Big Idea Productions' team determined that it could better meet its high production standards with more time to work on the plunger-headed superhero's second feature.

Subtitled "The End of Silliness?," the second VeggieTales sing-along video will resolve Larry the Cucumber's recent job crisis. Due to what he believed to be a substandard performance in "The Song of the Cebu," Archibald Asparagus managed to cancel "Silly Songs with Larry." The segment was replaced by "Love Songs With Mr. Lunt" in the most recent video, "Madame Blueberry."

Jimmy Gourd will co-star in the video alongside Larry the Cucumber, who is emotionally distraught now that his silly songs have been cancelled.

The mass outcry from fans in the past three months may convince Archibald and the Big Idea team to reinstate Larry to his former position. Or, perhaps Mr. Lunt's smashing debut performance has secured his love songs as a permanent segment on the show. When the smoke clears and the story ends, who will be left yodeling?
